An AI receptionist for a cleaning business that quotes by home size and books the clean
You are mid-clean with a mop in your hand and the phone is ringing. Here is what a missed call costs a cleaning business, and how each way of answering handles “how much for a three-bedroom?”
No card needed. Keep your number. One code undoes it.
The problem
Cleaning callers shop around. Someone who wants a weekly clean rings two or three companies and books the first that gives them a price and a time. Your phone rings while your hands are busy, and a recurring customer is worth far more than the first clean.
Here is what cleaning callers ask.
The calls you’re missing
- “How much for a three-bedroom, two-bath house?”
- “Do you do weekly or every-other-week cleans?”
- “I’m moving out on the 30th. Can you do a move-out clean?”
- “It’s a 3,000 square foot office. Can someone come look and give a quote?”
- “Do I need to be home, and do you bring your own supplies?”
What a missed call may cost
About $686 a month in missed revenue
An estimate, using the missed-call calculator’s sum with example numbers: 4 missed calls a week, 80% who never call back, 33% of them who would have booked, 150 dollars for the average clean, times 52 weeks, divided by 12 months.
Cleaning isn’t in the calculator’s trade list, so $150 here is a placeholder for an average clean. Put in your own number, and remember one weekly or monthly customer is worth many cleans, not one. These are not your numbers and not a promise of what any service wins back. GotItDesk is $99 a month ($79 for our first 100 customers): at that average, 1 booking a month brings in revenue equal to the subscription price, before your own costs.

When another option is the better pick
- Voicemail is fine if most of your work is regular clients who rebook with you directly.
- An answering service is the better pick if you want a person to take messages and you quote every job yourself.
- An office assistant is the better pick if you run several crews and need someone to schedule and handle complaints all day.
How GotItDesk handles the call
- Greets the callersays it’s the company’s virtual assistant
- What kind of clean?regular, one-off deep clean, move-out or office
- How big is the place?bedrooms and bathrooms, or square footage, so it picks the right service
- Quotes your pricethe price you set for that size, or a walkthrough if you quote on site
- Gets the addressand how often, if it’s a recurring clean
- Books ita column per crew, spells the name back and emails you the booking

What’s particular to this trade
- Size decides the price and the time. Add a service for each size band (for example one to two bedrooms, three, four and up) with its own price and length. It quotes the one that fits the home described.
- Recurring cleans. Add weekly, every-other-week and monthly as services, with the price you set for each. It books the first visit and notes the frequency the caller asked for, in the booking email. It doesn’t repeat the booking by itself, so you set the standing slot.
- Move-out and deep cleans. These are longer and priced differently, so add them as their own services. Your rules (empty home, oven and fridge, what’s included) are repeated in your words.
- Offices and big jobs: a walkthrough. If you quote an office or a large home on site, add a walkthrough as a service. It books a time to see the space, and you give the price after.
- Access and pets, in your words. Keys, door codes, pets and who should be home: it repeats what you wrote and takes a message for the rest.
Set up in about ten minutes, and the price
Paste your website and it suggests your hours, services and prices. You choose a voice, call your new GotItDesk number to hear it answer, and only then dial one code to forward the calls you miss. It says it’s a virtual assistant in its first sentence.
The free trial is your first 10 bookings, up to 14 days or 59 minutes, no card. Then $99 a month with 1,000 minutes ($79 for our first 100 customers). No overage bills. See pricing.
What it doesn’t do yet
Connections to cleaning-business software (Jobber, Housecall Pro and the like), texts and reminders to customers, card payments and deposits, and repeat bookings made automatically are not live. Bookings go to GotItDesk’s own calendar or your Google Calendar or Outlook, and every booking and message is emailed to you. We’d rather you know now.
