Book the diagnostic while you’re under a car
Every bay is busy and the phone keeps ringing. GotItDesk answers the calls nobody reached, asks what the car is doing, quotes your diagnostic fee and books the drop-off.
No card needed. Keep your number. One code undoes it.
The calls you’re missing
- “My check engine light is on. Can you look at it today?”
- “How much is a diagnostic, and does it come off the bill?”
- “Do you work on Subarus?” at 7pm.
Questions it answers in your words
- Do you work on my make of car?
- Do you offer a courtesy car?
- Is the work guaranteed?
- Can I wait while it's done?
- Do you do MOTs or state inspections?
You write the answers in setup. It is built not to make one up: what it doesn’t know, it takes as a message.
What’s particular to auto repair
What the car is doing
It asks the year, make and model and what’s wrong (lights, noises, won’t start), so the booking tells your tech what to expect.
Your fees, not guesses
It quotes the diagnostic and the prices you set. A repair it hasn’t got a price for gets a message for your team instead of a made-up number.
Stranded callers first
“Broken down”, “accident”, “won’t start” and the like are put through to your team, or taken as a message for them.
Your call flow, ready to change
For auto repair, setup starts with this flow. Every line is yours to rewrite, reorder or delete. The parts in brackets come from your price list and calendar on the call.
- Greeting“Thanks for calling Your business! How can I help you today?”
- The car“What's the year, make and model?”
- What's wrong“What's it doing — any warning lights, noises, or is it not starting at all?”
- Diagnostic fee“Our diagnostic is [your price], and it comes off the bill if you go ahead with the repair.”
- Drop-off time“I can take it [two open times]. Which suits you?”
- Wrap up“You're all set for [the time booked]. Anything else I can help with?”
Listens for: “broken down”, “accident”, “won't start”, “brakes failed”. You add your own words in setup.
Bookings go into your GotItDesk calendar and are emailed to you with a calendar invite; connect Google Calendar or Outlook and its busy times are kept free. Apple iCloud, texts to callers and deposits are coming soon, not live yet.
