Know which pet, and how urgent, before you call back
A vet’s phone mixes routine bookings with frightened owners. GotItDesk asks which animal and how urgent it sounds, puts emergencies through, and books the rest.
No card needed. Keep your number. One code undoes it.
The calls you’re missing
- “My dog needs her vaccinations, do you have anything next week?”
- “My cat ate something and is being sick.” at 9pm.
- “Do you see rabbits?”
Questions it answers in your words
- Do you see exotic pets?
- Do you have out-of-hours cover?
- Do you take pet insurance?
- How much is a check-up?
- Do you do vaccinations?
You write the answers in setup. It is built not to make one up: what it doesn’t know, it takes as a message.
What’s particular to veterinary
Which pet, which species
It asks the animal and its name first, so the booking says who is coming in.
Emergencies go to a person
“Not breathing”, “bleeding”, “poison”, “hit by a car” and the like are put straight through to your team. When nobody is in, it takes an urgent message and reads out the out-of-hours instructions you wrote.
No veterinary advice
It never says what is wrong or what to give. It books, passes on your own wording, and hands over.
Your call flow, ready to change
For veterinary, setup starts with this flow. Every line is yours to rewrite, reorder or delete. The parts in brackets come from your price list and calendar on the call.
- Greeting“Thanks for calling Your business! How can I help you today?”
- The patient“Who's the patient — what kind of animal, and what's their name?”
- How urgent“Is this an emergency? Are they breathing normally, bleeding, or in a lot of pain?”
- Emergency“Okay — I'm putting you through to the team right now.”
- Appointment“I can see them [two open times]. Which works better?”
- Wrap up“You're all set for [the time booked]. Anything else I can help with?”
Listens for: “not breathing”, “bleeding”, “poison”, “hit by a car”, “seizure”, “collapsed”. You add your own words in setup.
Bookings go into your GotItDesk calendar and are emailed to you with a calendar invite; connect Google Calendar or Outlook and its busy times are kept free. Apple iCloud, texts to callers and deposits are coming soon, not live yet.
